Following their last 12’’ with remixes from Joe Claussell and Mr. Ties (played and supported by Dixon, Hunee, Âme), the Berlin-based party series AWAY and its associated vinyl label returns with their next catalogue number.
AWAY003, a four-track compilation EP, features contributions from its very own residents Move D and AWAY Soundsystem, the collaboration between Discrete Circuit and Christian Vance. The EP is completed by two new faces: Auditory Response who’s releasing one of his very first tracks as well as the Greek DJ and producer GummiHz who was named „The Andre 3000 of techno“ (Derrick May) are both debuting on AWAY.
Here you can buy AWAY003
A1 MOVE D – STOMPER
Vinyl purist Mr. Moufang creates a hypnotic analog-driven mantra by combining elements of dark, motorized jazz with some pulsing moody synths.
A2 GUMMIHZ – FAR AWAY
GummiHz change gears pursuing a more straight as well as journey-like arrangement in which contemplative chords are gradually rifling through a cleverly worked out sunrise groove – nostalgic, dreamy, soothing.
B1 AWAY SOUNDSYSTEM – WERKZEUG
AWAY’s in-house sound system increase the pace, carving out some kind of wild techno chase in which raw percussion competing with indomitable noises like a brewing thunderstorm.
B2 AUDITORY RESPONSE – BACK TO F’HAIN
Debuting on AWAY, the Berlin-based Auditory Response presents a trip right from the beginning, thanks to a long, barrel-like drum inception from which loopy rhythms emerge into some kind of lucid dream.
